Analysis of ore processing products
Ore composition should be controlled usually while mining, as well as results of enrichment (concentrates) and mine refuse. Not only useful components are of interest, harmful additives should be controlled to prevent their negative influence while using the products in industry.
So the problem of elemental composition determination in ore and final products requires determination of a great number of elements within wide concentration range from n*0,01% до n*10%.
X-ray fluorescence analysis provides element determination in the range from Na (Sodium) to U (Uranium) in powder sample material without complicated sample preparation, therefore it is an ideal method for analysis of ores and products of their processing.
Sample preparation includes sample material grinding to the particle size of 50 micron with further pressing into pellets. Prepared samples are placed in a spectrometer, and analyzed. Element content is calculated with preliminary obtained calibration curves
X-ray fluorescence analysis is successfully applied in analysis of iron ore, concentrates, agglomerates and pellets; copper ore, zinc-copper ore, zinc ore as well as products of their conversion, titanium ore, chromium ore, bauxites, ferromanganese nodules, etc.
In all cases XRFA provides fast and accurate analysis.
